Nappies

The Size 2 Tots Bots Bamboozle and Original nappies can be used as a birth-to-toddler nappy. You simply fold down the front before crossing over the waist tabs as usual, and then fasten with a snappi. If you are folding down an Aplix-fastening nappy, you would fold it outwards. For other nappies, you can choose whether to fold it outwards, or tuck it inside the front.

The full size range of the Size 2 is therefore extremely large: around 3.5kg - 18kg. This means that for most children it can go from birth through to toilet training. In the normal position (without the front folded down), the nappy fits around 8kg - 18kg.

As with all birth-to-toddler nappies, a Size 2 can be a little bulky in the early days. Many customers therefore prefer to use the different sizes.

The Size 1s range from around 3.5kg - 8kg. This means they will typically last to around 8-10 months of age, although we know of cases where the Size 1 has lasted to 16 months or longer!

Covers

The Tots Bots covers come in 4 sizes. As you will see from the table below, the recommended weight ranges for each cover start at a slightly higher weight than for the nappies. However, the crossover tabs mean that in fact each cover can fit a wider weight range than the strict recommendation.

Generally, you should use the same size cover as nappy (ie Size 1 nappy and Size 1 cover, Size 2 nappy and Size 2 cover). If using the Size 2 nappy from birth, we recommend that you start with a Size 1 cover. You would then move to Size 2 covers when your baby approached 9kg in weight. The only real exception to this might be with using the Red Wraps for overnight. Since many people boost the nappies with extra cloth for absorbency overnight, you may consider getting the Red Wrap in the next size up if your baby is within a kilo or so of the upper weight limit. This allows a some extra room in the cover to fit in the extra padding which you use to get your baby through the night nice and dry.

The Size 0s are for newborns and provide a particularly snug fit in the early days. However, many people find they can skip this size altogether and go straight into Size 1s. If you are pregnant and unsure whether your baby will need Size 0s, we suggest that you do purchase the Size 0s so that they are on hand if you need them when your baby arrives. If you find that you don't need them, just return them to us, unused and unwashed, for a full refund.
